ONE SENIOR'S RAMBLING THOUGHTS
WHERE IS SPRING??
Spring is where it always is...exactly where it's supposed to be, waiting, right
behind Winter. That fact will hold true whether we have a mild winter or a brutal,
harsh, miserable, and just plain aggravating one like this one!
And for a senior citizen everything is more so. We complain a lot; it's too cold, too
icy, too windy, snowy, and especially slippery. On and on, the nights are too long,
the days too short...we need more sunshine! But look at it this way; it's good for us
to complain to each other, (shared misery and all). Healthwise too, it's better than
keeping it all in until we get an ulcer, or worse!
The best part is, we didn't cause the awful weather and neither did our kids so we
have no guilt, no regret, no going over and over about what we could have done
differently. However, although we don't have ourselves to blame, we do have to
point to someone, don't we? So how about Old Man Winter and Mother Nature...
(who are those two anyway??)
Humans have always yearned for sunshine and warmth and the fragrant air of
Spring... as far back as Adam and Eve, I'll bet. They lived in a hot, hot climate and
surely dreamed of a 'nice spring day' when they could throw on a light cotton sweater
over the leaf or two that they wore.
My last rambling thought is, you don't like the weather... you know what to do, go
down to Florida to where the rest of your family has fled!
THE END
